Wipak Oy, the manufacturer of Steriking® sterilization packaging, has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver medal, an independent assessment that reviews environmental performance, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable purchasing. This recognition reflects our commitment to transparency and our continuous journey toward EcoVadis Platinum by 2030.
Healthcare is estimated to account for 4–5% of global CO₂ emissions. As a manufacturer of Steriking sterile barrier systems, we recognize our role in helping the sector reduce its footprint. Our sustainability work is based on science and verified data.
Wipak has been Operationally Carbon Neutral since 2022, meaning all Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are reduced and any unavoidable residual emissions are fully offset via certified climate projects.
Some of the concrete actions behind this include:
• 96.8% of the electricity used across our 11 manufacturing sites comes from sustainable sources
• Continuous efficiency improvements and waste reduction programs at all sites
• Recovering heat from production lines and using it to heat our facilities
• Investing in new, energy efficient production technology that lowers our environmental impact
